How it works
Match. Trial. Report.
Every Mucked & Measured trial runs the same way, whether you are the barn using the product or the company that makes it.
If you run a barn
- 1
Register. Two minutes on the join page. Tell us about your barn, your horses, and what you buy.
- 2
Fill in your profile. The more we know about what you use and what bugs you, the better we match. Nothing is required.
- 3
Get an invite. When a product fits your barn, we email you. Say yes or no. No is fine, and you stay in the network.
- 4
Pick up and use it. Product is at Menden Equestrian in Aiken. Book a time, pick it up, and use it in your stalls for the trial period, usually a few weeks.
- 5
Tell us what happened. Two questionnaires, one before and one after. About 25 minutes total. We send the company what you said, with your name only if you agree.
One trial at a time, with a break between. Product only, never cash. You can leave the network any time by replying to any email.
Say yes to a trial and see it through. A missed pickup, or a questionnaire still open five days after its reminder, counts as a miss. Two misses pause your barn, and invites stop until we talk. Finishing a trial clears your misses. Saying no to an invite never counts against you.
If you make the product
- 1
We talk. Thirty minutes on your product, your dealers here, and what you need to learn.
- 2
Agreement and payment. Product and shipping to Aiken are on you.
- 3
We match barns. By what they use today and what they need. Nobody self-selects in.
- 4
Barns pick up and trial. Market questionnaire before pickup, then the product in use for as long as it needs.
- 5
We collect. When the product has had time to work, the product questionnaire goes out, with reminders. We chase it so you do not have to.
- 6
You get the analysis. Live results link during the trial. Written analysis and exportable results when it closes.
Most trials run eight to twelve weeks from agreement to analysis. The product sets the pace.
Our rules
- Results are results. We never shape a finding to please a vendor.
- Barns get product, never cash.
- One vendor never sees another vendor's barns or results.
- Barns decide whether their name and barn can be quoted, trial by trial.
- We report what barns observed. We make no health or veterinary claims.
