Mucked & Measured

Test barn products before they hit the shelf.

Mucked & Measured is a Menden Equestrian program. Companies that make equine products and barn supplies send us product to trial. Barns in the Aiken area use it for a few weeks and tell us what worked and what did not. You get the product free. The companies get honest feedback from people who muck stalls every day.

How it works

  1. 1Register your barn. Takes two minutes.
  2. 2When a product fits your barn, we send an invite. You can say no.
  3. 3Complete a short market questionnaire, pick up the product at Menden in Aiken, use it, then complete the product questionnaire.

Joining does not guarantee a trial. We match products to barns by what you use and what you need, and we keep it to one trial per barn at a time, with a break between, so nobody gets worn out. Product only, never cash. Your answers go to the company with your name only if you say so.

Program terms

Mucked & Measured is a product trial program run by Menden Ridge Equestrian LLC, doing business as Menden Equestrian, in Aiken, South Carolina. By registering your barn you confirm you are 18 or older and agree to these terms.

What the program is. Companies that make equine products and barn supplies send us product. We match products to barns in our network, barns use the product and answer two questionnaires, and we report what they said to the company. Joining does not guarantee a trial. Each trial is a separate decision for you, and you can say no to any invite.

What we hold. The information you give us at registration and on your barn profile, your answers in any trial you join, and a record of your activity in the program. We hold it to match products to barns and to run trials.

Who sees it. Menden Equestrian staff see all of it. A company sees your answers only for the trial you joined with that company. A company sees your name and barn only if you say yes on that trial, and your contact details only if you agree to hear from that company. We do not sell barn information and we do not share it with anyone else.

Quoting. Each trial asks whether we may use your name and barn name when we share your answers. You decide every time.

Taking part. When you accept a trial, we count on you to pick up the product and answer both questionnaires. We send a reminder for each one. If a questionnaire is still unanswered five days after its reminder, or a booked pickup is missed, we make a note of it. After two, we pause trial invites to your barn until we talk with you. Finishing a trial clears earlier notes, and saying no to an invite never counts against you. You can ask us to pause your barn at any time, and you can leave whenever you like.

Email. We email you about trial invites and, now and then, about the program. Every email has a way to stop. Reply to any email or write to trials@mendenequestrian.com and we take you out of the network.

Product. Barns receive product to use in a trial. We never pay cash. Product you receive in a trial is yours to keep unless the trial agreement for that product says it goes back.

Changes. If these terms change we show you the new version the next time you open your profile or accept an invite, and ask you to agree again.
